And we’ll take it from here.
How to use it
Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP, set your target size, and download a smaller JPG.
A quick example
For a 200 KB application limit, choose 200 KB. Check the final dimensions and readability before submitting.
Good to know
The compressor adjusts quality and, if needed, dimensions. Transparency becomes white; animation is not supported.
Is it free?
Yes. No account, payment or file upload to a server is needed.
Getting photos accepted on forms
Check the size and the format
Many Indian application portals ask for JPG photos within a range such as 20–50 KB, plus a separate signature image with its own limit. Read both limits before compressing, because an image that is too small can be rejected too.
Start from a clear original
Compressing a blurry or dark photo makes it worse. Take the photo in daylight against a plain wall, crop it to the required shape first, then compress it to the target size.
Keep the original
Save the original file separately. If the portal rejects the compressed image, you can compress the original again to a different size instead of squeezing an already compressed copy.
A little more clarity
How do I compress an image to 100 KB or 200 KB?
Choose your image, enter 100 or 200 in the target-size field, and select Compress image. The tool first reduces JPG quality, then reduces dimensions if necessary. The result shows the actual file size and dimensions so you can check the requirements of your form.
Why does my PNG download as a JPG?
JPG can make photographs smaller by removing some image detail. Transparent areas become white. Use Resize Image with PNG output when you need to preserve transparency rather than meet a file-size target.
