How to use it
Enter your loan amount, annual interest rate and tenure in months.
A quick example
At 0% interest, a ₹1,20,000 loan over 12 months costs ₹10,000 per month.
Good to know
Uses a fixed-rate reducing-balance formula with monthly payments. Estimates exclude fees, insurance, taxes and rate changes; lender schedules may differ.
Is it free?
Yes. No account, payment or file upload to a server is needed.
Before you sign a loan
Look at total interest, not just the EMI
A longer tenure lowers the EMI but raises the total interest paid, often by a lot. Try the same loan over different tenures and compare the total cost in the repayment schedule.
Ask about fees and floating rates
Processing fees, insurance bundled with the loan and GST on charges aren't part of the EMI formula. Most home loans in India are on floating rates, so your EMI or tenure can change when the lender's benchmark rate changes.
Plan for prepayment
Small part-prepayments early in a loan cut interest the most, because that is when most of each EMI goes to interest. Check whether your lender charges for prepayment. For floating-rate home loans taken by individuals, RBI rules generally don't allow foreclosure charges.
A little more clarity
How is the EMI calculated?
For principal P, monthly interest r and number of payments n, EMI = P × r ÷ (1 − (1 + r)⁻ⁿ). The monthly rate is the annual percentage divided by 1,200. At zero interest, EMI is simply P ÷ n.
Can I download the repayment schedule?
Yes. Calculate first, then download the CSV for a month-by-month breakdown of payment, principal repaid, interest and remaining balance. Values are calculated at full precision and displayed to two decimals, so small rounding differences from a lender’s statement are possible.
